Not everyone has the experience or qualifications that would make them suitable for an Apprenticeship straightaway or maybe you aren't sure if horses are for you. Employers need you to understand the basics because horses are a valuable commodity. Our Traineeships combine high quality work experience with vocational qualifications in Work Based Horse Care at a suitable level to start your career. The programme is up to six months, shorter if you are able to enter employment one day a week at our training centre and up to four days work experience alongside it. You'll also improve your employability skills and we'll also help you with your maths and English skills. Its a great way to get started in industry and gives you the underpinning knowledge to enter the Apprenticeship. We offer Horse Care and Animal Care Traineeships.

Building on the skills of the Intermediate Apprenticeship, the Advanced framework includes qualifications at level 3 alongside paid work of at least 30 hours a week with an employer. The programme takes up to two years but you'll learn at a good pace including valuable functional skills.
All of our learners recieve excellent one to one support but the Advanced Apprenticeship is a perfect programme for individuals looking to advance into yard management.
Maybe you already work in industry or if not we'll help you find a job but the level 2 Intermediate Framework is a superb set of qualifications and skills designed to suit a yard groom, hand or budding professional rider. We have fantastic links with competition yards, dressage yards, riding schools and livery stables including some of the best yards in the South East. You'll be paid by your employer in line with government rules on minimum wage working for at least 30 hours a week.
The Apprenticeship takes up to eighteen months of hard work and includes a range of qualifications which can include BHS stages while gaining practical experience. After completing this Apprentice we have several progression opportunities including the Advanced Apprenticeship.
We are funded through government to deliver qualifications and training for the ages of 16 and over. Our Apprenticeships and courses count as Full Time Education for the raising of the school leaving age. All you need to start is have completed year 11 at School. We have no upper age limit. If you're due to be a school leaver you can also get in touch and find out about the education we can provide post year 11.
For any of our programmes though it does help if you have some experience with horses but we have a course to suit all levels of experience. We have beginners in the industry to international competitors and all we ask is that you must have a passion for horses.
